Rigid Lifelines Self-Retracting Lanyards (SRLs) Now Available

June 14, 2011

By now you may have heard that Rigid Lifelines™ just launched a new line of full body fall protection harnesses. To compliment this new product line, Rigid Lifelines™ is also launching a new line of self-retracting lanyards and accessories for use on overhead attachment point fall arrest systems. Our new line of cable and web self-retracting lanyards (SRLs) are available in lengths from 18 to 50 feet.

Our new self-retracting lanyards protect workers from significant fall distance by utilizing cam-driven locking pawls that are engineered to activate during a free fall event and ensure that the typical fall is arrested within 2 feet (.6m) or less. The SRLs will also reduce the fall forces imposed on a fallen worker to 900LBs. (4kN) Maximum Arresting Force (MAF) or less. Rigid Lifelines™ SRL lock –up speed combined with Rigid Lifelines™ rigid track fall protection technology allows workers to feel more secure that fall distance will be limited, thus reducing the possibility they will impact obstacles during a free fall.

Rigid Lifelines™ SRL housings are available in corrosion-resistant thermoplastic, zinc plated steel, or stainless steel depending on the customer application. As Rigid Lifelines™ continues to innovate, we are already planning on adding new styles of SRLs to our product line. During the summer of 2011, the line will be expanded further to include shorter length models specifically engineered for close proximity applications. New information on these products will be available soon.

The sale of deceleration devices was a natural evolution for Rigid Lifelines™. With the addition of self-retracting lanyards to our product line, Rigid Lifelines™ can now offer turnkey fall protection system packages. This provides our dealers the option of specifying complete fall protection systems into a job without needing to represent their own line of harnesses or SRLs. Rigid Lifelines™ will continue to support our dealers who do represent their own lines of harnesses and SRLs, but they too, now have a high quality second option. During the week of June 13-17, I will be mailing all of our authorized dealers informational packets on our new SRLs and accessories, including color brochures, pricing, and details on stocking distributor discounts. If you are interested in receiving extra copies of this marketing literature, please contact my marketing coordinator Kristin Uhlig by phone at (800) 869-2080, or by email at info@rigidlifelines.com.

If you are not a Rigid Lifelines™ dealer and are interested in learning more about selling the best rigid track fall protection systems and accessories on the market, please contact us at joinourteam@rigidlifelines.com and tell us about your fall protection distributorship.

Thanks again to our loyal distributors and everyone who sees value in a Rigid Lifelines™ fall protection system.

Thanks,

Michael Evanko
