Self-Rescue Trolley
The Rigid Lifelines Self-Rescue Trolley (SRT®) is an innovative patent pending self-rescue product designed to allow a fallen worker to propel themselves to a point of safety.
Why is this product important?
When a worker is involved in a free fall on a rigid fall protection system, he may be saved from death or serious injury, but if he has no way to step back to safety, he is immediately at risk for suspension trauma.
What is suspension trauma?
After a fall, a worker enters a suspension phase where he is suspended in the fall arrest harness with limited mobility. Gravity pushes the weight of the worker down on the harness straps, making them tight around the legs and upper thigh. With each passing minute, blood starts to pool in the worker’s legs due to restricted blood flow back to the upper torso. As the blood pools in the legs, the lack of blood flow in the torso leads to fainting and then eventually to death. The time frame within which suspension trauma can occur varies depending on factors like the current health, age, and weight of the worker. But any worker that is not rescued within 15 to 30 minutes of being suspended in a harness is at serious risk of dying.
How does the Self-Rescue Trolley (SRT®) work?
The Rigid Lifelines Self-Recue Trolley allows the worker to swing /roll himself back to safety by employing a pivoting arm that creates a rigid anchor point. Will the SPANCO Rigid Lifelines Self-Rescue Trolley work on competitor’s systems?
The SRT® is engineered to provide self-rescue on all enclosed rigid track overhead fall protection systems as well as on rigid support beam systems (I-beams or W-beams).

- The FA524RI-SRT provides the user a bi-directional rescue route to safety, allowing users to propel themselves to safety in either direction after a fall.
- FA524RI-SRT consists of one rotating eye trolley and two SRT® assemblies fully assembled and ready for installation in the track.
